About the teacher: After teenage dabblings with a Lynn Marshall’s “Everyday Yoga” book in her bedroom, Anya first began practising yoga in earnest while at university in her early ‘20s. A few years later, she decided to take the plunge into teaching, gaining her Yoga Siromani at the Sivananda Yoga teacher training course in 2005.
She has taught yoga since then while working as an editor and writer for corporate communications, events PR, online, journals and books. She also writes for mind, body, spirit-inspired online magazine Psychic Oracle (www.psychic-oracle.com), for which she offers an irreverent look at the 8 Limbs of Yoga, among other articles.
It is this sense of dynamic unconvention that attracted Anya to the Punk Rock Yoga ethos. Along with the belief that yoga can be done anywhere, by anyone, at any time, she takes an honest and refreshing approach to yoga practice.
